Senior Unity Technical Artist

Remote Working – Full Time – Permanent

Barnstorm Games is the UK based developer and publisher of many successful quiz game show apps including The Chase, Tipping Point, and The Wheel. We are currently in search of an experienced Technical Artist to join our fully remote team in the UK. You will be a key member of the team whose primary role is to integrate UI and art assets into Unity, as well as manage and coordinate external art freelancers.

Role

  • Liaise directly with external artists on the creation of all forms of artwork
  • Prepare UI, 3D, Animations and VFX assets in Unity
  • Coordinate with programmers in the integration of game functionality
  • Ensure UI layouts are responsive for multiple aspect ratios
  • Profile and optimise memory and performance for a range of mobile devices
  • Manage and maintain the project’s art assets and pipeline
  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges
  • Have an active role in the design of the games if desired
  • Work and collaborate with other disciplines remotely using Slack

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Artist or Technical Artist in game development, preferably mobile
  • Proficiency with Unity, Photoshop and 3D modelling software
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment

Location 

  • This is a remote working opportunity. However, you will need to be available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm in the UK. Applications are welcome from anywhere in the world.
